Gentleman's Agreement (1947) was eliminated from this group last round.

As previously promised, all the remaining movies were taken from their groups and randomly entered into new groups starting with this round. I'm keeping it at 6 groups so we can eliminate more movies faster, but another group may be eliminated next round.

Jesus fuck people, just because Mutiny on the Bounty was a book you've heard of does not mean it was a fantastic movie. Why does no one want to vote it out?

It depends on what else was in the grouping beforehand. I haven't seen it and it's the oldest thing on the list so I'll give it my vote this time 'round.

I liked The Simpsons episode based on it.

Based on the BOOK. Back in the 1930s, popular books were made into movies. If Da Vinci Code had won the Oscar, would you not vote for that?

If Da Vinci Code would have won anything, I'd have felt homicidal.

The negation in that sentence was oddly placed. I don't know if I can trust you.

"Gentleman's Agreement" and NPP are going to have to agree to disagree.

Terrible.

I was thinking something along the lines of the agreement was broken.

That could work too.

DVC was a decent enough film, much better than a lot of shit that has won Oscars.

War-related things get a bit of a pass from me, so MotB allows to live.

DVC sucked. It barely worked as a book and it blew as a movie.

I took a vow to never watch it.

I own it on DVD but it's still in its original wrapping paper. It was 5 bucks on Black Friday - I thought why not.

I wouldn't say it sucked, but it was just so blandly average that the worldwide popularity that it achieved blows my mind. I'm speaking of both the book and movie.

I maintain that the plot of the book was interesting though convoluted, but the writing was pretty darn awful. Any high school English teacher would have torn Dan Brown to shreds.

I've decided to spend my saturday night (have to be up early tomorrow :() opening and watching The Da Vinci Code. A full review will come in the 149 minutes it takes me to watch the movie, plus an extra 20 for bathroom breaks/writing the review.

See ya then!

I'm all atwitter.

EDIT: In all seriousness, I would like to see more movie reviews on the Front Page. I was just hoping for better movie choices than Da Vinci Code.

Our reviews would simply be average, my friend.

Mutiny On The Bounty is quite a good film. Especially for the time.

Midnight Cowboy, however, is poor.

I am thinking of watching One Flew Over. I've read the book, but never seen the movie.
