Picking out the best US sitcom is a tough thing to do – there have been a lot of classics over the years, and certain shows appeal to different audiences.
Some US sitcoms start off strong, only to have a bad run and “Jump the Shark” in later seasons. Even the likes of Scrubs and Friends, which has very poor seasons but ended on a high note are generally given a lukewarm reception at best, due to that period of poor episodes.
We here at No Pants Provided have been voting on the best US Sitcom, and have whittled the list down from a whopping 64 entrants to just 16.
The first two rounds of this knockout poll on what is the best US sitcom have seen a lot of arguably great sitcoms bite the dust. Popular with the ladies, Sex and the City never stood a chance in this male-orientated audience, especially when it drew How I Met Your Mother in the first round.
King of Queens aired for 9 seasons, yet it too lost out to How I met Your Mother in the second round, after defeating Unhappily Ever After with ease in the first round.
Everybody Loves Raymond was met with a lot of negativity by the forum users, however a first round draw against Family Matters saw it scrape through to the second round. It lost promptly though when it came up against Seinfeld.
Other sitcoms that have bit the dust in the earlier rounds are Home Improvement, Mad About You, Arrested Development, Roseanne and The Drew Carey Show.
So that brings us down to 16, and we are bringing in seeding from here on out. Seeding is based on the prior rounds voting. The more votes it got, the higher the seed. These seedings are now set in stone, and here is how the rest of the tournament will play out:
So head on over to the Polling Station forum and vote for the best US sitcom now!

Fresh Prince v Happy Days in the final I'd imagine.
Yay seedings!
Seinfeld over Friends in the final.
Cheers Vs Seinfeld in the final.
3rd Rock looks like it's going to have some legs. Could make it to the finals.
It's struggling against MWC. No chance.
