Time magazine calls Mass Effect 2,”The Avatar of video games- except it’s better written.” I can’t comment on Avatar since I have yet to see it, but I can say the game is a near perfect sci-fi action shooter.

Mass Effect 2 allows you to either import your character from the first game or start a new one. If you import a character you will start the game at an advance level with some credits and minerals to use. Decisions made in the first game, will come back to you in the second one. Deciding to start a new character will allow you to choose from six different classes. You can be a soldier, infiltrator, vanguard, sentinel, adept or engineer. Each class has their own abilities, strengths and weaknesses. [Continue...]

This is the story, thanks to the aid of Football Manager 2010, of the Van Basten triplets.

On December 26th, 1995, Marco Van Basten celebrated the birth of triplets, three boys. Their names would be Dirk Van Basten, Willem Van Basten and Michel Van Basten.

Marco Van Basten was one of the most famous soccer players of the 80s and early 90s, a striker for Ajax and Milan where he scored 218 goals in 280 games, and a hit with the Netherlands national squad where he scored 24 goals in just 58 appearances.

Like their father, Dirk, Willem and Michel would grow up to become professional footballers. All three would become strikers, however there was a twist to the tale: competing regularly for their fathers love messed them up mentally, and also made them grow a strong dislike for each other. Yet they still all loved their father, and all entered the soccer world for the same club, ready to fight each other to become the next great striker with the last name of Van Basten.

Assassin’s Creed 2 is a third-person, open-world, action-adventure game from Ubisoft Montreal and sequel to 2007’s Assassin’s Creed.

The game takes place right where the first one ended with you controlling Desmond Miles who was kidnapped by the company Abstergo to be used in its Animus machine, a device that can recall the memories of the subject’s ancestors.

One of the best features in the current generation of consoles is the improvements to online gaming. It wasn’t until the PS2 or Xbox that we really saw online gaming for consoles, and even then it was severely lacking. Both the Xbox 360 and the PS3 offer online gaming with some incredible advances in it with buddy lists, parties, the ability to see what others are playing, private chats, group chats and a variety of other things.

I’m a big fan of online co-op games, although unfortunately the selection for this is still rather sparse all things considered. I’ve played a lot of co-op games for the 360, and wanted to write about some of the best and worst. [Continue...]

In this series of articles, I will be simulating the soccer world via the game known as Football Manager, or Worldwide Soccer Manager in North America. The artificial intelligence in Football Manager is 15 years in the making, and can often provide a very accurate representation of real life. Hell, many managers have admitted to using it for initial scouting of players, and it’s made a lot of players more famous than they really ought to be(ie: Luka Modric, Giovanni Dos Santos).

I will be running Football Manager 2009 and focusing on the EPL, mainly the “big 5″(including Man City), although will give updates on other clubs and other countries too.

I am running the latest version of FM 2009, and am using the FM Weegie Update which is updated to September 4th 2009. So Adebayor at City etc. Also a side note – for sheer curiousity purposes I gave Aberdeen a shitload of money and Ottmar Hitzfeld as their manager, with a sugar daddy chairman. Will a quality manager plus billions of money be enough to break the Old Firm? Let’s find out.
