A closely contested week three of the pick ‘em saw Dirty Hun pick up his second win of the year with thirteen correct picks one ahead of a nine-way tie for second place.  This moves him into a tie for second place with Boner and Kender just two points behind the overall leader, Don Majkowski.  At the bottom of the leaderboard this week, JoeyAt75, Hole, manbooba & tron all tied for last place with nine correct picks each.  This also causes Hole to move into sole possession of last place in the overall standings two points out of a tie for 19th. Another weekend has bit the dust and not only did my Detroit Lions win their first game since 2007, a new slew of average movies debuted to alright numbers. Odd reaction I had once I finished watching District 9. In retrospect I liked it less, or maybe appreciated it less is the right word. Allow me to elaborate.

It’s a fun film. A very fun film as a matter of fact. You root, you jump, you say “holy shit, that dude just exploded”. Now, that made for an awesome viewing experience and I won’t or can’t take that away from the film and I highly reccomend that everyone see this movie. There is a but coming though. [Continue...]

What was a terrible Week Two for most people was a great one for Don Majkowski.  Not only did his twelve correct picks give him first place this week but it also moved him into a three point lead early on in the overall standings with 25 points.  For the most part all the upsets made for a rough week for everyone else with only six people making 10 or more correct picks as opposed to last week where everyone except Tucho (who rebounded with 11 this week) had 10 or more.  faarcyde suffered the worst in this regard with the week’s low total of six correct picks. Well I’m back from Budapest, and a couple of weeks without XBox 360, and figured we best do an update to see just exactly where we’re at. I haven’t played 360 in a few weeks, so I’m a bit concerned that nateeasy has went crazy and completely destroyed the ever closing gap, renting the likes of Hannah Montana etc.
