Notes

- Transformers not only got those major feats as previously stated but they also are the #1 in June openings and openings on Wedsnedays. Overseas it has already made $80.184M and still has a few more places to open up to so I say this has done pretty well.
- Year One dropped an enormous 70.4% in its second week. That’s not the worst of the year but it is the 49th worst drop in history.
- Away We Go in its fourth week finally broke into the top 10 as it increased 92.6% and added 363 theaters. It beat out the fast falling Land of the Lost and lackluster Terminator Salvation.
- Even though Transformers 2 was the number one weekend gross it wasn’t the best per theater average. That honor goes to The Hurt Locker. It made $144k on 4 theaters or $36k per theater. The movie is getting rave reviews and its directed by Kathryn Bigelow. You know her for Strange Days, K-19: The Widowmaker and oh yeah POINT BREAK!!!
- Moon ($127k/$611k) continues to perform fairly well on its 21 screens that it is playing on. It stars Sam Rockwell in a solo mission.
