This is a question that I think everyone struggles with. I quickly came to some simple solutions that I'm sure are totally inapplicable to you:

I already didn't drink or smoke, so I just continued on that path. I'm not sure about cost where you live, but for the price of a single pack of Marlboro Reds where I am you can get a gallon of milk, a loaf of bread and a jar of peanut butter. Forget health, forget every other factor, not smoking makes it so I keep eating.

Don't go to the movies. They'll be out on DVD soon enough, and borrowing from the library is still free.

The trick is not to deprive yourself of everything. I splurge every week and buy comic books. It just means I eat out less, and don't buy as many movies or D&D Supplements as I'd like to.

Dude I bought a house when I was still a teenager or close to it at least. It's pretty simple - if you want to save money you stop spending it on frivolous shit. Practicing good financial management at an early age is key, because otherwise you're going to be fucked later in life.

Depending on the area buying a house when you're a teenager (or close to it) is not a viable option. For instance the average house here sells for $450,000, no way in hell would a young man be able to buy one at the starting gate so to speak.
