Didn't wanna lose this in the NFL thread, and i know it wouldn't "make it' in the NFL forums. Anyway, I find it HILARIOUS that Tony Dungy is 100% defending the Colts' decision here. CLEARLY he hasn't learned a thing from years past! I'm dying to hear Mikey's comments on this!

So you don't think it would have ended up here eventually, due to the EXTREME BIAS AGAINST ME?? I just figured I'd eliminate the middle man.

Did he compare the Colts to Usain Bolt? Yeah, he won more than one gold medal ever.

"Do you factor in what the fans want at all?"
"Not at all."

If I were Tony Dungy's son I'd fucking kill myself..... OH WAIT

HIS TRACK RECORD!?!? Jesus Christ, Hole could coach the Colts to atleast 12-4 every year. Hell he'd probably go for more 4th and 1s and have another Super Bowl ring. I fucking hate Tony Dungy. And Jim Caldwell.

God bless Bill Polian for making them legitimate.

It must be said that the last team to go 17-0 blew it in the superbowl.

As soon as I heard this last wednesday, I IMMEDIATELY thought of you.

THREAD DELIVERED

And Hole, At least the Patriots WENT FOR IT. They didn't lose in the superbowl because they lost their instinct, they lost because the Giants played the game of their lives. Pats played well enough to win.

I understand the decision and the pros and cons for each side. Maybe the colts staff know that if Peyton goes with an injury they are fucked no matter what.

And playing "well enough" isn't winning. Be interesting to know how many of those players would swap 17-0 for a superbowl.

Yeah, and hey, IF I take a shower today, I might slip on a bar of soap! OMG, I COULD BE KILLED!! Maybe I shouldn't ever go outside either, maybe i'll get hit by a car! GOTTA PLAY IT SAFE!!

And that's such a retarded line of logic. Again, you don't get to CHOOSE between the 2. If you lay down and purposely lose a regular season game, it doesn't AT ALL increase your super bowl chances. If anything, it DECREASES them. And you DO know that a perfect season AUTOMATICALLY *DOES* come along with a SUPERBOWL, right? Why not have BALLS and GO FOR IT ALL??

I know that you can't predict the future but there are ways to reduce risk.

I don't think any Pro Football Player lays down. They all try to win, it's just that they weren't good enough.

The main goal is the Superbowl win. Going perfect is an added bonus.

But a FOOTBALL *TEAM* LAYS DOWN, Like the COLTS did in the past 2 weeks. You cannot POSSIBLY deny that!

The risks became clear when New England played all their guys last week for no reason and lost Wes Welker for the playoffs. Going undefeated is obviously a bit of a different story than just playing for whatever the Pats were doing last week.

Is this some kind of Mikey wind-up? I don't see why you are so enraged by this TTG.

Because he and I TOTALLY AGREE on this, and I wanted to share that video?

And the Patriots were playing to clinch the #3 seed, weren't they?

They were judged to be meaningless games by the coach. They had nothing more to gain by going full pelt.

Like they did just about every single year since 2003, where they CAME OUT FLAT in their very first playoff game? Haven't you learned ANYTHING from ROCKY III?? The key is the EYE OF THE TIGER!! This is like the 1st fight, and the Colts are ROCKY, and their opponents will be CLUBBER FREAKING LANG!!
