In a move similar to The Grinch stealing Christmas, nateeasy managed to suck all the life out of this challenge, and becoming a cunt in the process.

I achieved my challenge goal, of beating nateeasys score by the end of the year.

Unfortunately it was a bitter sweet victory.

The night was Friday December 4th. The kids and Janise were all at a sleepover at her moms. I was home alone, playing Rogue Warrior. I beat the game and I got a ton of achievements in the process, taking over nateeasy. nateeasy’s score sat at 63,650 while I hit the 64,000 mark, with a score of 64,001.

I won.

As we approach December, the achievement challenge is as good as mine. Nateeasy pretty much accepted defeat in the comments of last weeks article, and now it’s just a case of stepping up the game, and beating him into a bloody pulp.

Well after a pitiful month and a half when it came to the old gamerscore, I finally managed to get back on track with a decent week this week.

While I’ve not taken over nateeasy yet, I did manage to hit the 60k gamerscore mark which is good, and managed to cut down nateeasys lead just a bit.

Week 18 of the achievement challenge, a few weeks left to go, and things aren’t going well at all.

This was one of those weeks where I just didn’t get the chance to play much XBox at all, which is not really good when you are trying to win a fucking achievement challenge. I came back from Edmonton with a million things to do.

Well it had to happen eventually. After some serious XBoxing over the last little while, I was totally burnt out last week and didn’t play at all. It’s just been a crazy week. Let’s see….

Saturday October 24th: Rented Ninja Gaiden 2. Never played it. Never even put it in my XBox 360.

Wednesday October 27th: Returned Ninja Gaiden 2. Rented the Godfather 2. Played it for maybe a few minutes.

Friday October 30th to current day: A lot of things have really cut down my XBox playing over the last week. My son has been really sick with a fever, and I spent a few full nights awake with him. I switched to a new computer, which required a lot of work backing up then setting up. We also had to switch website servers, which caused a lot of frustration. All that, plus my regular work.

Yeah. Not my best week and a half. And now I’m going to go to Edmonton for a few days, and when I return I have quite the to do list all set. WHEEE. [Continue...]
