Well it’s been a few days since I posted about the 2009 Xbox 360 achievement challenge and I have to say – I am feeling good! For the first time in a while I actually played my Xbox 360, and I got that nice warm fuzzy feeling every time an achievement unlocked.
And oh boy, did I get me some achievements.
First, I’ll try and restrict these articles to every Monday, but I was strapped for time this week and I wanted to get this update up as I am planning a BIG GAMING WEEKEND and I didn’t want to have too much to write about on Monday.
So last time we checked in, the standings were:
#1: Nateeasy (52005)
#2: Risto (42740)
#3: Scotsman (42561)
Leaving me exactly 9,444 gamerscore points behind NateEasy.
First of all this week, I revisited some old games…..
Lego Indiana Jones: It’s driving me nuts that I don’t have 1000 points in every Lego game, so I am out to rectify that. First up was Lego Indy, where I needed 4 more achievements. The destroy 50 objects with scream/super scream, access restricted enemy locations 50 times, destroy 100 stakes and disarm 100 enemies with the whip. The latter was the most annoying, but me and Mason played the game and I focused on grinding, and lo and behold I unlocked all achievements, for +80 and a 1000 gamerscore.
Lego Batman: While Lego Batman is a hell of a game, the free play stuff is so frustrating because you have so many fucking characters. It drives me nuts having to go to a double jumper, then click the button like 18 times just to get to demolition man Batman or whatever. Fuck, so annoying. Anyway I started off with a lousy 600 gamerscore in this, and I still have a ton of stuff to do like all the minikits etc. I worked on that, and in doing that I got super hero on every level, finished a level without dying(Unbreakable), destroyed 10 objects with the batarang throw, and used Mad hatters mind control to walk 5 enemies to their death. +100 points for that to put me at 700, and I should get to 1000 over the weekend.
Out with the old, and in with the new….
Disney-Pixar Up: I went downtown with Mason on Saturday and we ended up in a video game store. There was a ton of games he wanted to play, so I decided the best thing was just to get the Blockbuster unlimited pass again, and let Mason use it for the next month or so. Well Up was the first game of choice. I won’t bore you with the achievements, but he managed to get 500 points easy, and then I worked with him and we got all 1000.
If you’re looking for a change of pace, I’d recommend this game. It’s only a few hours long, but is pretty fun and it’s nice to mix up the games you play. Easy +1000.
We beat that on Saturday, so on Sunday we went on a nice trip downtown and Mason chose…
Ghostbusters: I haven’t really played this yet – it’s mostly been Mason. He’s beaten a few levels, did stuff like collected an artifact, trapped a ghost etc. He’s getting pretty good at video games. 115 gamerscore points so far, and I’ll hit this shit on the weekend.
So that’s it. A nice productive week – +1295 gamerscore points. I easily breezed past Risto. Nateeasy however is a dirty, dirty achievement whore who actually played Hail to the fucking Chimp. That and other games saw him get 575 points since the last update. Shit. If it wasn’t for Up I woulda been fucked.
Current Standings:
#1: Nateeasy (52580)
#2: Scotsman (43856)
Current Difference: 8724.
By the next update, I hope to wrap up Lego Batman, play through Ghostbusters, and start a new game – either The Incredible Hulk or The Godfather most likely.

I'd play the Godfather over The incredible Hulk. Although don't know how easy achievements are for Godfather, some of Hulks are a little time consuming as well as the game been buggy as fuck.
I hope Nateeasy gets competitive now and starts raking up more achievements, can't have this been too easy.
I'm currently digging The Godfather II and might pick up the Godfather I because of it.
I played the first one on PS2, but can't really remember it, but enough to know that it was decent enough. I'd pick it up again, but I've never seen it for less then $100 on the shelves here, fuck that.
I remember there was some awesome mob game called Gangster or something for the PC. I'd like to play that again to see if it's just a hazy memory or if it was good. Gangland? I forget.
Mafia?
I think it was this one actually

I played that years ago, I had a friend suggest it found it to be bad although I seem to recall sucking at it so that might be the reason why.
