arkanoid_excelWell it had to happen eventually. After some serious XBoxing over the last little while, I was totally burnt out last week and didn’t play at all. It’s just been a crazy week. Let’s see….

Saturday October 24th: Rented Ninja Gaiden 2. Never played it. Never even put it in my XBox 360.

Wednesday October 27th: Returned Ninja Gaiden 2. Rented the Godfather 2. Played it for maybe a few minutes.

Friday October 30th to current day: A lot of things have really cut down my XBox playing over the last week. My son has been really sick with a fever, and I spent a few full nights awake with him. I switched to a new computer, which required a lot of work backing up then setting up. We also had to switch website servers, which caused a lot of frustration. All that, plus my regular work.

Yeah. Not my best week and a half. And now I’m going to go to Edmonton for a few days, and when I return I have quite the to do list all set. WHEEE.

Oh well, it wasn’t a complete fail. Let’s see how I have did over the past week and a half:

Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince: Got this one out the library. 5 minutes in, 2 achievements, Grime Buster and Quidditch Beginner, for a whopping 20g.

Arkanoid Live!: Been in the mood for arcade games lately, and bought a few including this one. I destroyed 100 enemies, busted 10 blocks as mini-vause and beat the first 10 rounds of episode 1 & 2 without using continues for 50g. Not sure about all the achievements in this one but I should get most of them. Arkanoid is a game I have been playing since I was 3 years old, so I am pretty awesome at it.

The Godfather 2: Funny. I’ve played this for maybe 20 minutes, and I already have the 25 Massacred achievement for killing 25 mobsters. Also created a mobster and recruited a soldier, to put me at 20g.

Monsters vs Aliens: Told Mason we need to go through this and try and get 1K. It’s a bitch as you have to die less than 10 times throughout the entire game, and the levels are tough. It was also amusing getting stuck at parts, and Mason having to help me. Anyway I watched the credits to the end for 5g, and had a team-mate use the tractor beam for the first time in co-op to increase my score in this by 15g. WHEEEE.

Texas Holdem: Boy this game sucks. I may have it on in the background when I am watching TV or something on my laptop. Anyway I won 10 hands, won with a high card hand of 9 or less and won an All-In bet for 45g.

The Bigs: Went back and played a game of this. Didn’t do too great – got a few achievements like 15 strikeouts in a game, 5 home runs etc. Fun enough game to be fair. Returned it, with 230g total.

Bubble Bobble Neo!: Got all the bonus food in the bonus round for 15g.

Civilization Revolution: With Mason sick and me staying up all night, I decided to grind this for the rest of my achievements. What a crappy game this really is – the Deity skill level is a joke and not challenging at all. I got all the victories on Deity, won as all civilizations and a bunch of others. The only achievement I still need is to unlock all great people, and I have exactly ONE person left. Hopefully will wrap that up by the next article, so I can sell this horrible, horrible game.

That’s it for this week. An increase of just 645. Nateeasy gained 705 achievement points since the last update, so the scores are:

(1) nateeasy (61520)
(2) Scotsman (58501)

So a difference of 3019 which isn’t the end of the world. Still within touching distance. I probably won’t play next week at all, so it’s going to be close.

Sorry for no charts. Don’t have much time right now.

I really liked Civilization. Never played the PC version, so don't know how it stacks up, but I enjoyed revolution, still haven't traded it in so I can play the occasional game. Of course it was even sweet since I constantly beat Taff in it.

The Godfather 2 isn't a bad game, not a real difficult 1000 either, just make sure you finish it off before you kill the last family, as from memory you can miss a couple of achievements there if you haven't got them by that point.

Revolution is horrific. Its so limited, and the AI even on Deity is a fucking joke. Absolutely no challenge at all. You really should play CIV 4 to get your mind blown.

scrolled through, saw no graphs or charts, not reading this

Civ Rev got too repetitive after a while. I rented it again recently to go through a few more achievements and every time I started it up I dreaded doing another 3 hour or so game.

The only thing I did,t really like is when you got to the later stages and got planes each turn would take ages.
