Week 18 of the achievement challenge, a few weeks left to go, and things aren’t going well at all.
This was one of those weeks where I just didn’t get the chance to play much XBox at all, which is not really good when you are trying to win a fucking achievement challenge. I came back from Edmonton with a million things to do.
Still, let’s see just what I did this week….
Bubble Bobble Neo: Got the Bubble Bonanza achievement for defeating 5 trapped enemies in one go. +15g.
The Godfather 2: Got a fair amount of achievements in this, like promoting a made man to capo, killing 150 mobsters with firearms etc. Had to take it back with 165g while just getting to Florida sadly, as I had ordered Ben 10 and Bakugan for Mason for his birthday, and they hadn’t arrived. So I had to go out and rent….
Fantastic 4: Was out with Mason for his birthday, killing time in EB Games when he spots this one, which according to reviews is like one of the worst XBox 360 games ever. Of course he just watched the movie, so we had to buy it. Beat two levels, got 80g at the moment. And yes, it sucks.
Bakugan: This is one of those games where you basically play cards against each other. I think it’s similar to Pokemon although I never played that. Anyway it’s complete shit, and we beat the tutorial for a whopping 10g.
That’s it. That’s fucking it for this week. The scores:
nateeasy: 62845
Scotsman: 58751
The lead is now over 4000 points. Bah. a shitty week overall. I’m also out of town at least 4 days this week, so nateeasy is most likely going to stretch his lead even further.
As an attempt to convert the peanut gallery in a support for me – there will be no more charts until I am #1 in the leaderboard. So cheer for me, work with me on online achievements, kill nateeasy, whatever.
I’m depressed. What a shit week.

I ticked over for 40 000g with Modern Warfare 2 putting me fourth on the NPP leaderboard. Of course with Honky Tonk Man in 3rd place nearly 16 000g in front of me, I don't think I'll be climbing higher anytime soon.
Last I checked I was neck and neck with someone going into 5th, unless it was Sub and he hasn't been playing.
Considering my goal was to get into the 90% completion, or at least high 80's, for games I think I might be running out of time. Haven't checked TA lately, but I've bought a few games I'm still yet to complete. All the rhythm games are killing me as I need to play through on drums for every one to try and get some more completion out of them. Metallica wont be to bad as you just have to finish the last song to complete it, which you unlock well before playing every song, but Smash Hits and World Tour you need to play every single song which feels daunting.
DJ Hero is a bit more forgiving though, only got 2 more playlists to do on that to finish the game with (hopefully) 5 stars on every medium song, which I think will be the bulk of achievements I get on that as getting 5 stars on all for Hard will be tough and on Expert I don't think I have any chance.
Still have to wrap up Need for Speed: Shift. On about 500g for that. Wont be the toughest 1000, but certainly not the quickest as there's a lot to do and I think you'll have to grind some of it out by the end.
Of course been distracted by Modern Warfare 2. Getting through the Special Ops, and the game on Veteran. Special Ops hasn't been to bad so far, but getting onto the harder ones. I think it's best to do them with a partner if you can as it would make things far, far easier.
Jesus christ 40k for you. No surprise. If you weren't such a completionist we would all be fucked. You really are a machine.
I think that completionist mentality will be broken when I finally play Raving Rabbits.
