The Quest: At least 500 gamerscore points in every game I own.
This week I ended up revisiting games I’ve already beaten for the most part, and adding achievements along the way.
Saints Row: Unfortunately, I didn’t get to 500 in this yet as it can take awhile. I completed the Demolition Derby activity for 10 points, and also all the Escort levels for the Fluffer achievement which sadly only got me 10 points too. I’ve got 490 in this at the moment, and should have it all wrapped up next week.
Madden 2008: My nephew recently signed up for XBox Live and has been wanting to play some games with me, so I decided to use that time to go for some achievements. First up – Madden 08, and he went the stinking Colts, so I went the Chargers to work on the rushing achievements. Over the course of 3 games, I managed to rack up a ton of achievements. I did pretty much all rushing plays, easily earning the 40 rushing attempts for one player. During the course of that, I picked up the 200 rush yards and 250 rush yards achievements, got an 80 yard run, nailed 3 rushing TDs, 650 yards on offense, and 100 rush yards with two players. God bless LT. I also was a little bit cheap, as after doing so many rushing plays I threw him off with a pass in my own endzone….a pass that resulted in a TD for a 90 yard pass, and picked up the 100 & 80 percent pass completion achievements. To add insult to injury, I didn’t allow any sacks, and this added to my score, earning me 280 gamerscore points with relative ease. GG, will play again my dear nephew.
NBA 2K8: With March Madness, I was in the mood to play some basketball. As Ontario is currently buried in fucking snow, I resorted to playing on the 360 instead. I unlocked player achievements for Gilbert Arenas, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson, adding 125 points into my achievement score for this one.
NHL 08: Going back to my sports games got me in the mood to play this again. Me and Brando played a whole bunch of shootouts, and when we hit 25 I got the Shootout King achievement for 25 gamerscore points. We then played a couple of games, and in one of them I scored a goal against Brando while on the penalty kill, unlocking the Shorthanded, No Problem achievement for 25 gamerscore points.
The Outfit: Risto was at 495 in this so wanted to get an achievement to boost himself over the 500 mark as he’s been doing the challenge too. We ended up finding an extremely rare online game of the Outfit and so played in that for a couple of hours. During that I achieved victory in less than 2 minutes, captured 10 objectives in a single ranked game, got a score of greater than 350 in a game, got 20 enemy player kills(mostly Risto!!!) in a game, and got victories totalling 1000 Command Points. This got me the Clear Winner, Great Score, Feared, Lightning Victory and Master of Capturing achievements.
Guitar Hero II: While not on my list as it’s just a game that I borrowed, I might as well mention this. This is the first time I’ve played a game in this genre – pretty fun, but unfortunately lack of songs that I love means it doesn’t hold my interest as much as it could. Fun game though, and I went through Easy Tour beating that for 60 points, completed all tutorials, got over 100,000 points in a song, got a 100 note streak, and the easiest of all – failed a song on easy, ending my score currently at 120 points. I’m going to try out medium next, but I just can’t get used to the 4th button yet and using my pinky for it – and to be honest a game like this drives me nuts because I’m usually really good at video games, and there’s quite the learning curve to this so it frustrates me that after one day playing, I’m not able to get 5 star on all songs on the expert skill level.
Work was the main problem last week, as I kept myself very busy which left little time for playing. I’m hopefully going to focus this week more on video games.

Didn't get much this week, partially due to the fact that I was up north for the weekend. Scotsman and played some NHL 08, doing the remaining 15 of 25 shootouts (I believe) for the Shootout King achievement (25G) and then I kicked his ass and got Shutting the door (50G). I think we played another game but I forget who won.
Also, I finished off a level of Escort in Saints Row. I am really getting down to the nitty gritty in that game, only needing to finish off a few more levels of Escort, about 4 levels of Racing, two levels of Drug Trafficking and... I think that's about it.
I did a bit of work on WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 by beating some of the challenges (which I've already done on PS2!). I'm going to try and skip GM mode if I can...
Nothing at all this week as it pertains to games I have yet to complete the challenge on.
STILL TO DO:
ACHIEVEMENT TARGET HIT:
I should add that "Shutting the door" is the shutout achievement. I'm going to take a lot of joy in keeping Scots from getting it.
Why are you taking so long to play COD?
cos its shit.
Yeah, I'm not going to say I plan on beating Rainbow Six anytime soon, but while I'm regularly playing it, I don't want to be playing COD at the same time.
Blitz the League actually isn't a bad game.
I played it when I was at Scots' place. I have only ever watched football a couple times in my life (one Grey Cup, a couple XFL games) and it was all right as a game, but I got killed.
