Even though I own a bunch of games, I usually have 4-5 that I'll exclusively play until I beat. I have no idea if other people play games like this, so I figured I'd start a thread about it. My little brother tries to play a little bit of every game without exclusively focusing on one. And yet other people I know transfix themselves with only one game at a time, not resting until it's beaten.

So, my question to you is, what games have you been playing most often in the past month or so? List em, talk about em, you know the drill.

    As always, I'll start!

    1. NBA 2k11 - My relationship with basketball is a tricky one, as I'm absolutely terrible at it in real life. But I started following the Lakers a couple years back, blah blah blah, but this game has made me absolutely fall in love with the sport. After getting it for Christmas, I played the demo and did terribly but decided to stick with it. Started off with a franchise on fantasy draft - Steph Curry, George Hill, Lebron James, Kevin Love, Marc Gasol if you were wondering - and set it on easy. A 29-game undefeated season and playoff sweep later, I finally tried out the "My Player" mode. Read some tips on the internet whose jump shots to copy and where to place stats, but it's hard cause:

    A. Your player starts off 38 overall
    B. Lowest difficulty is "Pro"

But I stuck with it, my scoring PG/SG got drafted to the Bucks, and although my team is terrible, I'm averaging 12 PPG with 2 AST and 4.5 REB. The highlight was dropping a double-double - 28 points and 11 rebounds on Raymond Felton's ass when playing the Knicks. Just simply godly. This game is hard as hell and I love every fucking minute of it.

    2. Mafia II - I don't feel like writing that much anymore after describing NBA 2k11 that much. Anyway, picked this game up and am working my way through it. Very much a Early-to-mid 1900s Grand Theft Auto but enjoyable. Fake New York is beautiful and I like sandbox crime games.

    3. Need for Speed: Shift - Nothing much to say about this game really, it's your standard "race to win money to buy more cars to race" game. I'm starting to recognize courses and wished they could have put more in the game, but it's nice to have a virtual garage filled with fancy sports cars.

    4. Singularity - Pretty mediocre FPS. Russian town gets mutated by some weird element and turn into zombies, which you shoot. Also you go back in forth in time, which is a cool enough gimmick to keep my interest.

Great idea for a thread. I usually like to focus on just one game at a time, although I sometimes have secondary ones that I play every now and again.

I haven't played 2K11 but I played 2K10 I believe, which was the first time they implemented the My Player thing into it. It was a bit rough around the edges then but it usually takes at least one more game in the series to really tighten that, so I'm sure that's a lot better in 2K11. This was a feature I wished was in sports games back in the mid-90s so glad it's finally coming to fruition. It was in Madden games a good few years back but was so poorly implemented and weak.

NHL 11 also has that feature which I own but I've barely played. Hopefully be able to put more focus into it soon.

    Primary Game:

Saw 2: This is my primary game at the moment, which I've been playing the past few days exclusively. Beat the game, now just 2 achievements to get in it for the full 1k, then I'll move onto something else tomorrow. Not sure yet but I'll return this to Blockbuster and see. If Dead Space 2 or Black Ops are in will probs get one of those.

    Secondary Games:

Puzzle Quest 2: I pick this up and play it every so often. It's a LONG game - like 50 hrs worth, so I'll just do a few puzzles and then stop.

Halo Wars: Basically picking up and playing this to get a few achievements in it every now and again. Mainly going through missions and all that. Basic RTS, but ideal to play on the 360 and a lot of fun.

[b]Tiger Woods 09[//b]: Again just going for the achievements mainly, and playing through the Tiger challenges and all the competitions. Fun enough but super easy unless you play on the highest difficult level which is frustratingly hard - no real good balance there.

I usually stick to whichever sports game is in season between Madden, NBA Live, and MVP Baseball (yes, I'm still playing MVP 05 because I have a PS2 and refuse to play 2K shit).

However, I picked up NCAA Football 11 a few weeks back during EA's half price sale, so I've been fucking about with that a fair bit. As of this morning I'm 12-0, ranked #2, and in the SEC title game with Florida. Awaiting me are the 11-1 LSU Tigers who I already beat at the Swamp 35-21.

I'm also one "level" away from beating Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s, which I picked up two weekends back. Probably will finish and then let it sit on the shelf.

Primary games are NCAA Football 11 with due to the online dynasty still going on between me and Vern and Dance Central on the Kinect

Secondary ones would be GTA: San Andreas and then still playing Borderlands off and on as I still have to get the final DLC for that.

Last kid on my block to play Mass Effect, picked it up yesterday. I think this is going to be the primary for the near future. Poor Infinite Undiscovery, which I saw at Gamestop for eight bucks and grabbed two days earlier. You on the bench now, nigga.

Secondaries are Puzzle Quest, Castlevania: SOTN (playing through as Richter now, which I've never gotten around to doing), San Andreas and DA:O.

I'll usually have two or three in rotation which generally becomes one which is whichever title I'm enjoying the most.

Call of Duty: Black Ops:Been my go-to multiplayer franchise since I've had a 360. It's the only online game, and pretty much only game, my real life friends play, and I also enjoy it so it's always sitting there as you can throw it in and have a session. I'm still on about 250g for Black Ops though, it's been the first one where I haven't played the single player before getting into online. Need to work on that.

The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom:Been playing this off and on, finished the main story puzzles but there's still a heap of time and clone challenges after that. Fun puzzle game, although it's not terribly hard. I don't think there's a level that took me more then five minutes. There's a couple where you might stop and wonder, but once it clicks you're off. More of a figure it out game then trial and error. I enjoyed it though and would recommend.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West:This has probably been my primary single player game for the last few weeks. It's based on the ancient Chinese story Journey to the West, which was also the same basis for the Monkey Magic TV series, for those who remember that. Gorgeous looking game, great story and solid voice acting and motion capture. Pretty basic platformer though, although the combat isn't to bad. It's meh gameplay with fantastic visuals and story. It didn't sell to well, which isn't that surprising. It's probably not worth the price of a standard game, but if you see it discounted or for rental, it's well worth checking out. It's not a game you'll regret playing.

Finished the game so need to work on achievements now. I need to replay a few levels for collectables, which I can see been a bit of a pain, and then finish the game on hard.

Plants vs Zombies: Finished this awhile ago, and got all the achievements, but I still find myself playing a couple of levels every now and then, so I'm on the last stage of a second playthrough, which has the computer picking your first three plants for you randomly.

I wanna get Mass Effect 2 but it's $60 for the PS3 and $20 for the 360. That's just unfair.

Just give me all the bacon and eggs you have. Wait, wait. I worry that what you just heard was "Give me a lot of bacon and eggs." What I said was, "Give me all the bacon and eggs you have." Do you understand?

That's true. I hear Minecraft is incredibly awesome but I haven't the free time for any games outside of Black Ops.
