To be fair, it's only now you're both posting that I realised it wasn't Cheekbone who posted the original question.

    I blame the av's.

What can I say, I've not been checking the board much lately and my "don't set yourself up for a pwning" skills are rusty.

So I have a dead stick of RAM and am down to 512MB. This is unacceptable. My motherboard is an IC7-MAX3 and the stick of RAM in my comp right now is a PC333, is that the only type of RAM I can use? What's the maximum amount of RAM my motherboard will support?

I'm pretty sure you can use any brand, although some will be better then others. How ever many slots you have is how much you can put in.

I'm pretty sure everything in this post is incorrect but will wait for confirmation.

    Your motherboard can support up to 4gb RAM and you can use DDR200 / DDR266 / DDR333 / DDR400.

You generally shouldn't use different speeds. but if you do it should downgrade to the slowest one without problems.

Is it better to have 2512 GB of DDR333 or 2 GB of DDR400?

FUN FACT: Every time I see this thread being used, I think of HIMYM and the episode where Ted and Robin salute and repeat what was just said.

I've got a slight problem. Every time I try to load Media Center on my laptop, I get this error message:

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
    Process id=0x9dc (2524) Thread id=0xd80 (3456)
Click OK to terminate the application.
Click CANCEL to debug the application.

Anyone have any idea how to correct that?
