Phil Lord and Chris Miller released from directing the Han Solo movie with about a month left to shoot. Creative differences with screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. Ron Howard replacing.

Went to see Transformers and it may have been the worst film I've seen at the cinema in a long time.

    CHIPS

Nothing groundbreaking, but nothing detestable. Its an OK way to kill 90 minutes if you have to, but I'm kinda glad I didn't pay to see it. War on Everyone > CHIPS.

Generation Iron 2. ***. Not nearly as good as the original, but solid anyways. The first was about the competitors heading to the Mr. Olympia, and it was a solid ***** film. This was following two social media stars, a retired GOAT, and cameos by past legends. I wanted to like it more but it just didn't have that captivating factor the original did. This was interesting because it did allow you to see behind the curtain a bit. That was pretty cool. Overall, the first was way better.

    Moana

This was delightful. Only gripe is the first quarter or so before Maui gets there drags a bit but once he's introduced the story is fast paced and fun. God damn the Rock can do anything. Great songs but everyone probably knows already.

Just give me all the bacon and eggs you have. Wait, wait. I worry that what you just heard was "Give me a lot of bacon and eggs." What I said was, "Give me all the bacon and eggs you have." Do you understand?

Keeping Up with the Joneses: Absolutely terrible movie. Zach G continues to stink. 0/5

Chips: Wasn't bad. Had a few laughs. 2/5

    The Belko Experiment: Decent. 3/5

Trainspotting 2: The book was amazing - read it about 5x so far. The movie was very loosely based on it. Think it depends how you feel about the original movie and characters - if you loved it you'll enjoy this. But it really wasn't that good. 3/5

Dunkirk - really impressed. Emotional, action packed and the pacing was on point.

    SAFE

Jason Statham plays the same character he does in 90% of his movies. A bunch of Chinese and fake russians do the stereotypical mob shit. And New York is so corrupt and evil that the cops are all in on the gooey mob cash goodness. I didn't hate it, but I have also seen pretty much the same movie 30 times before. Does Statham owe the IRS a shit ton of money like Nicholas Cage does?

    Spider-man Coming Home

Solid. Love that the story was smaller and more personal. It's a needed change of pace for Marvel movies. Also a really well fleshed out villain, helped muchly by Keaton's performance. There's a fantastic scene about 3/4s of the way through that's among if not the best in any Marvel movie.

    4 / 5

    Dunkirk

Excellent. I've heard the criticisms and I completely disagree, they were looking for the wrong kind of movie. Tension from top to bottom, they get the right feeling for all of it. Possibly the most boats sunk I've seen in any movie.

Can't go full 5 since I couldn't really call it flawless, there's a few weird things in there but top to bottom it's very effective filmmaking.
