egWell I’ve only been back a few days from my trip to England and I really didn’t expect to have much of an update – but things have actually been progressing quite nicely.

As expected when I go to an affiliate conference I return invigorated for work. However I also returned home ready to hit up the XBox 360 and start working on achievements.

So although I’ve only been back a few days, it’s been a pretty fucking productive few days.

First the highlight of my whole trip – while away, Janise started playing Lost. I bought her that game maybe a year ago and she started it but never finished it. Well with me getting into the TV show Lost as well, she was clearly worried I’d steal her thunder, so sat down and played it and beat it. Not content with beating it, she also found an achievement guide, and went through the game again just to beat it and get every possible fucking achievement. Best. Wife. Ever.

Previously she had only beat up to episode 3 and got 5 out of the 30 achievements. So she picked up 25 additional achievements and 870 gamerscore points for me. Thanks!

Alas Mason failed while I was away, and didn’t get one single achievement. Informed him that if that happens again I shall disown him.

Since return I picked up Fifa 09. I was playing Fifa 2010 at Taffs and it got me back into the game. I’ve earned 8 achievements in its o far, and I hope to get every possible achievement within the next week. Achievements I got include scoring 20 goals in the arena, beating my favourite team with their rival, and reaching legendary status for club and country.

The final game for this weeks update was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. I’m very proud to say that this is the very first COD game I have ever beat on Veteran. Sadly from what I understand it’s the absolute fucking EASIEST COD game, but whatever I beat it, and that’s all that fucking matters amirite.

So yeah – got 10 achievements total as I beat the game on veteran. Will be working on wrapping this one up 1000/1000 over the next few weeks.

Risto meanwhile added a new game to his list in Silent Hill Homecoming which at least short term will hurt his stats. He did pick up some additional achievements though in dark Sector which will help his score.

Last Week:

Scotsman: 51.63%
Risto: 66.23%

This Week:

Scotsman: 52.43%
Risto: 66.29%

So he actually managed to increase his score slightly since the last update. Here’s a bar graph indicating everything so far:

chart

Risto has dropped 0.30% since the challenge begun, while I’ve increased 1.65%.

A long way to go yet. But I did manage to nail Risto with a nice jab when I temporarily took over him for gamerscore points based on the True Achievement ratio. I plan on slowly but surely knocking him around in what is going to be a 12 round classic bout. Next week will actually be a very slow week as I plan on replaying Bioshock for the final 3 achievements I need in that, but it will be good to finally put that dog to rest. Would you Kindly?

    Exciting graph.

Borrowed Bioshock from a friend and planned to go through it again before 2, but bought Dante's Inferno last week, so ended up playing that instead. Dante's isn't going to be a terribly hard 1000/1000 I don't think, although you do need two playthroughs.

I'm halfway through Insanity on Mass Effect 2. 5 cheevos away from finishing it up. No success in the getting laid achievement yet.

That's one of lines you should leave for the likes of Vern dude. Poor show.

Also I was looking at achievements today and realized that there is a ton of 0g Blitz achievements which I didn't bother to get because well - they're 0g. But of course now it comes back to haunt me and I sold the game.

It's gonna be fun when I beat all the games I own. I'm gonna write up a big list of games I need to rent and achievements I need and just fire through them. Might have to get a GameAccess(online rental) pass though for some of the oldies.

Was playing MWF 2 earlier today getting the final achievements needed. Gotta say I had a fucking problem with that chicken one, until I discovered a spot just a few seconds ahead where it was super easy.

I believe only non spec-op ones I need now are running the pitt in under 30 seconds(that one makes me nervous) and 45 intel items which is easy and something I do while watching Mad About You woot.

Fuck. I love achievements. Gonna spend the next week grinding out the achievements where I don't really need to pay attention while watching Lost.

  8. Nibbles's Avatar Nibbles says:

Pit isn't too hard. Pick up two machine guns, so instead of reloading one you just switch to the other one. You hit % counts too, so you want every bullet to hit a target. There's a couple of times where you can line up and hit two targets with one bullet, so really you can get over 100% accuracy.

Accuracy % takes time off, so you can run it in 35 seconds and have the accuracy that takes 6 off, and get it.

I read two pistols were a lot better.

I just always have nightmares from the same kinda training mission from MWF 1. I remember always getting to one spot where it just gets too intense and I scream like a girl and throw the controller away due to the pressure.

  10. Nibbles's Avatar Nibbles says:

Didn't try pistols, I liked the guns with red dot sites as I found it easier to run, aim, shoot and continue.

I didn't have too much trouble with this one of the first one, although I think 2's is far easier.

I think I'm gonna be neglecting Red Faction: Guerrilla now. Haven't played it since I picked up Dante's, and with Bioshock 2 out tomorrow I'll probably go get that and be plaything that for as long as it takes.

Sticking with Dragon Age, got a few achievements this weekend (3 I think). I played a quest one way (the EVIL way) and then loaded and older save and finished the good way- did that to unlock a specialty but got 2 achievements along with it.
